Since the competitions is a one-match-trophy deal, every lineups represent the final act of that year, the match between the Liga 1 winners and Cupa României, or – in case of a double – between the Liga 1 & Cupa winners and the domestic runners-up.
Most of the times it was and it is played before the domestic league kicks off with some exceptions, caused by scheduling or extraordinary situations.
